How to Apply Trubuild Stain Free Epoxy Grout?
Surface Preparation
-
Prepare the Surface
Using a wire brush or air blower, remove dust, oil, debris, and any sealer from the joints to ensure a clean surface for epoxy grouting tiles.
-
Mix Components
Mix Parts A and B in a suitable container and mix thoroughly with a trowel or slow-drill mixer until a uniform consistency is achieved.
-
Add Part-C
Slowly add Part-C powder to the mix, continuing to mix until you achieve a consistent, stiff mixture suitable for epoxy grouting for tiles.
-
Apply the Epoxy Grout
Using a hard rubber grout float, compact the tile epoxy grout into the joints, ensuring they are filled. Work in small areas and remove any excess grout from the surface diagonally to the grout lines.
-
Seal Open Joints
Plug open-ended joints with a stiffer mix to prevent slumping, ensuring your epoxy tile grout stays intact.
-
Clean Off Surplus Grout
Within 30 minutes of application, clean off any surplus tile epoxy. Use an Emulsifying Pad and Gripper dampened with clean water to emulsify (break down) the residue. Use a circular motion and keep the pad flat against the surface.
-
Prevent Water Flow
Do not allow water to flow or run into ungrouted joints during the process of grouting with epoxy grout.
-
Clean Off Residue
After emulsifying, clean off the epoxy grout residue with a fine sponge, cleaning diagonally to the grout lines to ensure a neat finish.
-
Remove Haze
Any light haze left on the tile surface can be cleaned off the next day using the Emulsifying Pad and Gripper and an alkaline detergent. Ensure the haze is removed within 24 hours to maintain the integrity of the epoxy grout.
Restrictions on Use
- Do not use the epoxy grout when the temperature is below 5°C and falling.
- Avoid exposure to running water during the epoxy grouting for tiles application to ensure proper bonding and finish.
- The colour may fade if used in exterior applications due to exposure to sunlight and weather conditions.
Cleaning
- Trubuild Stain Free Epoxy Grout should be removed from tools and equipment with water immediately after use.
- Once set, it can only be removed mechanically, so prompt cleaning is essential for ease of use.
Mixing Ratio
- Resin: Hardener: Filler = 0.9: 0.35: 3.75 by weight.
Handling Precautions
- Wear a mask, nose cover, and hand gloves during the application of epoxy tile grout to avoid contact with skin and eyes.

FAQ
What is Trubuild Stylo 3K?
Trubuild Stylo 3K is a premium, three-component epoxy tile grout designed for grouting joints between ceramic, vitrified, and natural stone tiles in demanding interior and exterior applications. It offers excellent chemical resistance, water resistance, and stain resistance.
What are the key features of Trubuild Stylo 3K?
Trubuild Stylo 3K is a high-strength, non-shrink, and solvent-free epoxy grout with superior resistance to acids, alkalis, oils, and cleaning agents. It is hygienic, easy to clean, and provides a dense, impervious, and color-consistent joint finish.
What are the advantages of using an epoxy tile grout like Trubuild Stylo 3K?
Epoxy tile grouts like Trubuild Stylo 3K offer unmatched performance and durability compared to cementitious grouts. They are completely waterproof, stain-proof, and chemical-resistant, making them ideal for harsh environments like industrial floors, commercial kitchens, laboratories, and swimming pools.
What tile types can be grouted with Trubuild Stylo 3K?
Trubuild Stylo 3K is suitable for grouting a wide range of tiles, including ceramic, porcelain, vitrified, mosaic, glass, and natural stones like marble, granite, and limestone. It can be used for both wall and floor tiles in interior and exterior applications.
What grout joint widths can be filled with Trubuild Stylo 3K?
Trubuild Stylo 3K is designed for grouting tile joints from 2 mm to 12 mm wide. Its non-sag formula allows for easy application in vertical joints without slumping. For wider joints, the grout can be filled in multiple passes or by using a grout bag.
How is Trubuild Stylo 3K applied?
Trubuild Stylo 3K is supplied as a three-component kit consisting of a resin, a hardener, and a color paste. The components are mixed in the specified ratio to form a smooth, trowelable consistency. The grout is then spread diagonally across the tile joints using a hard rubber float, ensuring complete filling without any voids or gaps. The excess grout is removed from the tile surface with a damp epoxy sponge and the joints are smoothened with a profiled tool.
What is the pot life and setting time of Trubuild Stylo 3K?
Trubuild Stylo 3K has a pot life of 45-60 minutes and an initial setting time of 6-8 hours at 30°C. The pot life and setting time may be shorter at higher temperatures and longer at lower temperatures. Mix and apply the grout within its pot life and clean the tiles before the grout sets hard.
Is Trubuild Stylo 3K waterproof and chemical-resistant?
Yes, Trubuild Stylo 3K is completely waterproof and highly resistant to a wide range of chemicals, including acids, alkalis, oils, solvents, and cleaning agents. It is ideal for applications subject to frequent wetting, chemical spillage, or aggressive cleaning regimes, such as in industrial plants, laboratories, commercial kitchens, and swimming pools.
How long does Trubuild Stylo 3K take to cure and develop full resistance?
Trubuild Stylo 3K achieves initial cure in 24 hours and full cure in 7 days at 30°C. Light foot traffic can be allowed after 24 hours, but the grout develops its maximum chemical resistance and mechanical strength after 7 days of curing. Avoid exposing the freshly grouted area to water, chemicals, or heavy abrasion during this period.
How can Trubuild Stylo 3K grout be cleaned and maintained?
Trubuild Stylo 3K grout is highly resistant to staining and easy to clean due to its dense, impervious structure. Regular cleaning with a neutral pH cleaner and soft brush is sufficient to maintain the appearance and hygiene of the grout joints. Avoid using acidic or abrasive cleaners that may dull the grout color or damage the tile surface. Epoxy grout haze or residue can be removed with a suitable epoxy grout cleaner or stripper.
